When the COVID 19 pandemic struck world over, musicians were among the impacted communities - with concerts being cancelled, tours postponed and all related activities being completely shut down. GCMA leadership realized that many of their members, who depended on these concerts alone for income, were in dire need of financial help. They decided to begin by each of them personally contributing to the Artistes Relief Fund. After this, they spread the word to their well wishers, friends and students who donated towards this relief effort.
More than 600 artistes have now been served since the pandemic began. Nadaswaram Thavil Vidwans have also been supported even though many of these
artistes are not members of GCMA. GCMA has also been serving the general public across the southern states of India,
providing them with bags of essential provisions. These services have now reached 1200 families.
"Paarambaryam - Tradition" was planned to celebrate the First Anniversary of GCMA in summer 2020.
Because of the pandemic, this 4-day festival will now be performed online by 56 of our eminent Vidushis and Vidwans.
They will present 14 hours of quality music with each concert focused on a theme.
"Paarambaryam " will serve as a Fundraiser towards GCMA's continuing efforts to serve the artistic community that has been affected by the COVID-19.
Your patronage of 'Paarambaryam' will strengthen this cause greatly and help GCMA sustain the ongoing relief efforts.
