Nirmala Rajasekar is well known veena player, vocalist, composer and educator. She has been performing and teaching for nearly 40 years. She has been recognized for her work around the world. She has received several awards and honours during the course of her career and is the first India born musician to receive both the Bush and McKnight Fellowships. She serves on the boards of many arts organisations including the American Composers Forum.
