Rithuu Rajendran, hails from a musical and poetic family from Kerala. She is the great grand niece of the great poet Vallathol Narayana Menon, from her paternal side and great grand daughter of Manakulam Valiya Kunyunni Raja, the founder of Kerala Kalamandalam from her maternal side. She is a Carnatic vocalist and an expert teacher. She began learning from Smt. Padmavathi Ananthagopalan at the age of 6 and made her musical debut in Madras. After ten years of intense training under Smt. Padmavathi, She continued to learn from renowned teachers, Smt. Shyamala Venkateswaran of the Umayalpuram tradition and Smt. Subashri Mani of Musiri Subramania Iyer tradition. Currently, she is taking advanced training from revered guru, Sangeeta Kalacharya Smt Suguna Varadachari. She is also pursuing a doctorate degree in Indian Music. In addition, she learnt Hindustani music under Late Pandit Sarathi Chatterjee in Delhi.
