Sri. V.K. MANIMARAN hails from the most illustrious nagaswaram paramparai of Tamil Nadu with stalwarts like Sri. Kulikkarai Pichayappa Pillai (Grandfather), maternal uncle Sri. Kulikkarai Viswalingam Pillai to name a few. Starting his tutelage from the age of 5, under his uncle, V K Manimaran started his stage performances right from the age of 10. Robust voice, soaked in aesthetics, and uncompromising classicism, with a wide repertoire of various composers and works, V.K. Manimaran, has carved a niche for himself with his individual qualities. Donning all major performance stages in Tamil Nadu, V.K. Manimaran pursued professional classical music by acquiring a Master’s degree in Indian music form the Madras University. During this period, he happened to be the favorite student of many illustrious gurus like Smt. Suguna Purushothaman, Smt. Rukmini Ramani, Sri. Rajam Iyer and many visiting stalwarts. Simultaneously, his advanced training continued under the great guru Sri. Calcutta Krishnamoorthy for many years. Sri. Manimaran has performed extensively in concert venues in the UK, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, besides in the US at Cleveland OH and Houston TX.
